Barry Bonds’ record ball fetches $750,000

“Barry Bond’s record-breaking home run ball was auctioned for more than $US750,000, well above what sports memorabilia experts had expected the ball to fetch, the auctioneer has revealed.

An unidentified bidder paid $752,467.20 in an online auction run by SCP Auctions Inc, which sells sports’ collectibles’ in partnership with Sotheby’s, according to SCP.

Bonds hit his 756th homer, beating Hank Aaron’s major league baseball record, in the San Francisco Giants’s game against the Washington Nationals on August 7.”
