With Barry Bonds on the verge of setting the all time record for the most home runs, and after our previous post on how the ball probably won’t become one of the all time most expensive sports collectibles, it’s interesting to see a ticket stub up for auction on eBay for the game where Bonds hit his first ever home run.
As the seller describes it, “NUMBER ONE!! You are bidding on one ticket stub from June 4,1986 (6/4/86). BARRY BONDS hit his first homerun, home run, this day in Atlanta’s Fulton County Stadium. There were only 14,000 or so in attendance that afternoon so there cannot be many of these around. ”
With less than an hour to go, there are 15 bids and the price is sitting at US $1,802.77. We’ll keep an eye on it.
UPDATE: The auction ended with 17 bids and a winning price of $2,949.99 – nice!
